The government shutdown and disruption of SNAP benefits led to increased food insecurity. To help alleviate hunger, the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii Committee on Social Concerns donated $2000 to Hawaii Foodbank, $2000 to Maui Foodbank, $2000 to Hawaii Foodbank Kaua1, $2000 to Kauai Independent Food Bank, and $2000 to The Food Basket.
