Andy Haldane (Royal Society of Arts, writing in the FT) argues the UK should reform its regulative culture to join the US & focus on forgiveness rather than permission;

so writes a man who likely has never suffered a loss due to rapacious financial service operators, had to rent from an exploitative landlord, or found himself stolen from by scammers;

its always the comfortable middle-class who champion deregulation & a shift to higher risk; strangely never the victims!

I agree with Martha Gill, it would be a really positive move if our political class actually listened to what people really think about immigration, and were not so influenced by the vocal minority who think migrants are a problem....

Actually we manage integration pretty well, we value the contribution migrants make to our society & actually would welcome more..... however, that's not the story that dominates, but it should!
