But Torry is fighting back

Friends of St Fittick’s Park has received legal advice that the land comprising St Fittick’s Park and surrounding wetlands is held by a trust not as general corporate property, but as part of the historic Lands of Torry Trust for the benefit of ‘education’ and the ‘poor’.

This means that Aberdeen City Council may not be within their rights to use the land for commercial property - and may need to obtain permission by the trust that the land is used for the benefit of the community.

Friends of St Fitticks Park call on the Council to
Immediately publish a full register of land it holds as trustee,
Confirm whether any leases or agreements over trust land have been signed or proposed,
Cease further actions that could prejudice the outcome of future legal proceedings.
