This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
Mendicants, these three people are found in the world. What three?
One like a rainless cloud, one who rains locally, one who rains all over.
Two people actively listen to the teaching: one remembers the teaching they’ve heard, one does not.
The person who
*doesn’t remember the teaching they’ve heard is reprehensible in that respect.
*does remember the teaching they’ve heard is praiseworthy in that respect.
~AN7.68
When a person dwells in a suitable locality
and makes friends with the noble ones,
when he has formed right resolutions,
and done deeds of merit in the past,
grain, riches, fame, and reputation,
along with happiness accrue to him.
