Apart from the direct causes of the ongoing NHS crisis (budget, workforce management), the role the collapse in funding for preventative health outside the NHS has had on demand for services needs to be recognised.

Since 2015/16 the Public Health Grant to local authorities has fallen by 26% per person (worse in some deprived areas), halting or limiting pubic health interventions in many areas of health!

A serious health strategy would rebuild this provision!
